We're looking for a new Senior Impairment Analyst to join our growing team at Zopa!
You will join a high performing risk analytics team responsible for assessing the credit risk of our assets across all lending products by using the risk model effectively, understanding and monitoring portfolio trends, market dynamics and macro-economic environment
Collaboration is key at Zopa which means you'll work closely with our cross-functional teams including data science, product, and finance to develop and drive innovative approaches to calculating impairment provisions while remaining compliant with our internal policies and external regulations. You’ll be owning and enhancing the loss forecasting framework, supporting stress testing and capital allocation.

- You work with some of the best tech in the industry, such as AWS SageMaker for ML, DBT for data processing along with standard analytical tools like Python, Redshift, Tableau etc.
- All our decisioning systems are built in-house, meaning that we have nearly unlimited flexibility in what we can implement.

A day in the life...

  • Finding insight in our data and explaining trends in impairment provisions.
  • Producing impairment forecasts to support business budgeting exercises and stress testing.
  • Overseeing the implementation of new IFRS9 impairment models and updates to existing ones.
  • Using advanced statistical techniques to predict customer behavior or forecast future losses.
  • Designing and maintaining the controls we have in place around our impairment calculation process.
  • Mentoring junior team members, fostering their growth and development within the team.

About you...

  • You have experience of solving data and analytical problems preferably in a consumer lending environment. (Experience with IFRS9 is a bonus!)
  • You have a strong ability in manipulating and analyzing large datasets using SQL and/or Python.
  • You are experienced in visualization and storytelling through data.
  • You have a passion for translating numbers into business opportunities and delivering insights to drive decision-making.
  • You are a structured and holistic problem-solver, and possess strong time management skills.
  • You have an insatiable curiosity and a relentless drive to learn, improve, and share knowledge with others.
  • You can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including tech, data science, finance and product.

Towards the end of 2025 Zopa will be relocating to a brand-new headquarters at 20 Water Street in Canary Wharf. The 44,000 square foot workspace will foster collaboration and inspire creativity for our 900 employees amidst our 2025 growth blitz.
