Content Creator & Comms Manager
What’s Yonder?
“It's as if Time Out, Amex and Monzo had a baby” - Will T, Yonder Member
We’re building the financial membership of the future. One that works for how you live now. Not how your parents banked in the ‘90s.
Yonder combines credit and debit in one membership, designed to be fair, flexible, and actually enjoyable to use. No confusing terms. No dusty points system. Just rewards that actually feel rewarding - from bao to beer to a boarding pass.
We raised £23.4M in September 2024 to grow the team, launch even better rewards, and expand beyond the UK. If that sounds good to you, you’ll probably like it here. 🎉
Sounds cool. What’s my part in this?
Over the last year we've added a debit card, a free membership tier, hundreds of new independent partners around the country, countless product improvements and our personal favourite, Yonder Flights, a new way to use Yonder points on any flight with any airline globally. We've maintained a 4.5 TrustPilot rating and our customers really love us (and we love them back... hi!).
Over the last 24 months, we’ve grown from just an idea to a beautiful, fully regulated financial product that our members absolutely love - especially the support we provide them.
The Marketing function is looking for a Content Creator & Comms Manager.
What you’ll do
(Some people call this role a Social Media Manager. We don't, because that's not all it is.)
We're building a rewards card that people actually want to talk about. Your job is to make sure they do.
This is a hands-on, make-it-yourself content role. You'll be on camera. You'll be doing street interviews. You'll be setting up a brand activation at Wimbledon at 4AM. You might be booking a real life Santa. You might be putting our Co-Founder in a bubble bath. You'll be filming, editing, producing, writing, starring, and corralling the Yonder team to join you. You're not briefing an agency. You are the thing.
Content is how we earn attention, build habit, and make members feel like insiders rather than customers.
This role owns two things that matter a lot: what we say on social, and how we talk to our members. That's a broad canvas. It suits someone who can hold both without dropping either.
Social & content
You own Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Reddit. Own means produce. Concept, shoot, edit, caption, post - mostly yourself, occasionally with help, never by committee.
You know what works on each platform because you actually use them. You can tell the difference between a moment worth jumping on and one that'll make us look like we asked an intern to "do a trend."
You're a "brand snob" in the best possible way. You'll push back on a single line of copy that doesn't sound like us - not because it's your job to, but because it bothers you that it's wrong. Creative taste isn't negotiable here. We can teach you tools. We can't teach you that.
Member & partner comms
You'll plan, build, and send email and push campaigns to our members. We use Braze - if you know it, brilliant. If not, we'll train you, but experience with any CRM will help you get there faster.
You'll write for different lifecycle moments: onboarding, first reward, upgrade nudges, reactivation, in-product copy. You'll collaborate with the partnerships team to bring our reward partners to life across email, social, website. You'll track what's working and feed it back in.
You'll support on website copy, ad creative, scripting, product messaging. Not as a favour, but because good content people make everything around them better. You'll want to be involved.
What we need from you
You make content. Real content, that you're proud of, that you'd show us without being asked. A portfolio or a social handle is worth more than anything else in your application.
You write well. Not "good for a brief" well. Actually good.
You live on social. What works on TikTok isn't what works on LinkedIn. You know this because you've tested it, not because someone told you.
You're comfortable on camera. Or getting there fast.
You've worked with limited budgets and still made something worth watching.
Some CRM or email campaign experience. Braze knowledge is a big plus. Not a requirement.
Awareness of the creator space - you've probably worked with a few, or managed a relationship end-to-end. But this is a creator role, not a creator management role.
Experience you might have
Background in a startup or scale-up - you know what "scrappy but quality" looks like
D2C, consumer or lifestyle brand experience
Familiarity with the full marketing mix and the role content plays.
Please include work when you apply. Social content, email campaigns, a video you made, a caption you're quietly proud of. We read everything. Good work gets noticed. Generic applications don't.
You're a great fit if you
✅ You don't wait for the perfect brief. You make a call, ship it, and learn from it.
✅ You're analytical enough to know what the data's saying, and creative enough to do something interesting with that information. Deadlines don't stress you out. Missing them does.
✅ You care about your craft. You'll rewrite a product CTA four times not because someone asked you to, but because the third version wasn't good enough. You notice when something's off-brand and you say so, even when no one asked.
✅ You're excited about Yonder specifically. Not "a role in fintech." This product, this brand, this audience. There's a difference and you know it.
✅ Comfortable with change. We're a startup, priorities shift, plans evolve, and the best people here adapt without drama.
You won't be a good fit if
👎 Your best work was made by someone else, a bigger team, a bigger budget, or a better brief. We need to see what you can do when it's just you and a good idea.
👎 You need sign-off to have a point of view. Our brand has a voice and you'll need to use it confidently from week one, not find it six months in.
👎 You think "content" means scheduling posts. This role is 80% making the thing.
👎 Braze is the most interesting part of this JD to you. Comms is real and important here, but if your heart's in CRM and not in creativity, this probably isn't it.

What’s the interview process like?
We take the candidate experience really seriously, so we’ve made the process as transparent as possible. We also promise to be super responsive, and will never leave you wondering where you stand for weeks on end.
Here’s how it works:
Stage 1: Intro call (45 mins): You will have an initial call with Shanice Daeche to find out more about you and to tell you more about us.
Stage 2: Case interview / Take home task (60 mins)
-
Stage 3: Face-to-face interview (2 hours): Two 60-minute interviews to learn more about how you work. This will also be a great opportunity for you to meet the rest of the team so we would love it if you can come into the office for it! Interviews will be structured as follows:
Experience interview: We’ll deep dive into your CV and talk about your past experiences.
Values interview: We want to learn more about how you work - we’ll ask you questions related to our principles (Our DNA). This stage will be with two people from our wider team.
*We’ll also include a 15-minute comfort break ☕️
Stage 4: We always complete reference checks at this stage - ideally with a previous manager and a peer over the phone
Stage 5: Offer If everyone’s happy, we’ll make you an offer to join us - YAY! 🎉 We hope to always give you a decision between each stage within 24 hours (where possible).
Other things to know:
We love closing the feedback loop at Yonder. You can expect specific feedback on our decision from Stage 2 onwards, and you can always ask for more.
We must complete the right to work & criminal background checks for every new Yonder-er for compliance purposes because we handle sensitive customer data.
We also do reference checks, ideally with your most recent manager on the phone.
We like to move quickly at Yonder, so we will be ready to onboard you once the above checks are complete - the entire process can take between 2 - 6 weeks.
🌈 We know that diverse teams build better products. If you’re from an under-represented community, we’d especially love to hear from you.
👉 Even if you don’t feel 100% qualified, please do apply anyway. Your attitude and desire to grow are just as important as your experience.
