The Role
We're looking for a GTM & Implementation Lead to own the end-to-end journey for our payroll customers—from deal close through successful launch and adoption. This is a player-manager role where you'll personally implement 10-20 customers quarterly while building a GTM motion across multiple partner channels.
This role sits in the product team, bridging sales, product, and operations. You'll be both operator and architect—executing implementations while designing the systems, processes, and team structure that enable Stream to scale to thousands of customers.
What You'll Own
Implementation Execution (60%):
- Own 10 to 15 implementations per quarter (100-5,000 employees) from signed contract to successful launch
- Lead implementation kickoffs, project planning, and stakeholder alignment with HR and payroll teams
- Configure Wagestream platform settings, integrate with payroll/HRIS systems, and validate data flows
- Train customer administrators and create customized launch communication plans
- Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate resolution with Product and Engineering teams
- Drive to go-live within 4 weeks and ensure smooth handoff to Account Management
- Measure and report on key metrics: time-to-value, activation rates, and customer satisfaction
Team Building & Leadership (25%):
- Hire and train a team of 2 implementation specialists
- Create the partner implementation playbook—standardized processes, templates, and success criteria
- Establish operational cadence, team rituals, and quality standards
- Build capacity planning models to match team resources with pipeline volume
- Foster a culture of speed, quality, and customer obsession
Go-To-Market Strategy (15%):
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to refine partner positioning, messaging, and ideal customer profile
- Identify implementation bottlenecks that impact sales velocity and create solutions
- Design customer onboarding experiences that drive adoption and reduce time-to-value
- Build self-service tools, documentation, and resources to increase implementation efficiency
- Analyze implementation data to identify patterns, optimize conversion, and improve customer outcomes
- Collaborate with Product on SMB-specific features and improvements to reduce technical friction
About You:
- 5-7 years of professional experience
- Proven player-manager experience—you've led teams while staying operationally hands-on
- Track record of building and scaling implementation processes from early stages
- Technical proficiency with APIs, and data integrations
- Exceptional project management skills—you juggle multiple implementations without dropping balls
- Bias for speed and efficiency—you know how to move fast without sacrificing quality
- Strong GTM instincts—you understand how implementation impacts sales cycles, conversion, and expansion
- Data-driven decision maker who measures what matters and optimizes relentlessly
- Excellent communicator who can manage diverse stakeholders from frontline managers to C-suite
Working Policy: We operate a hybrid policy with a requirement of 4 days a week in the New York office, with Monday and Thursday being mandatory, in-office days.
Salary: Salary will vary depending on experience, typically up to $130,000+ plus equity. We are assessing multiple levels for this role.
