Posted on Jun 6, 2025

Come and build something monumental for Healthcare!

At Tandem Health we’re reimagining healthcare by putting clinicians first. Our platform - designed by clinicians, for clinicians - is built on deep insight into real-world pain points, with intuitive medical notes and workflows that truly support patient care.

We’re a fast-scaling health-tech company backed by top investors and expanding globally. We move fast, stay curious, and believe building something that matters starts with an extraordinary team. If you're passionate about impact and innovation, we'd love to meet you!

About the Role

You love solving problems with technology. At your previous job you were the person who really got stuff done, and because you understood how everything worked you were the person people came to for help. At Tandem those skills will be applied to problems that really matter, problems that ensure our healthcare system is functioning properly. You’ll be designing, implementing, & debugging high stakes complex systems together with other people who are locked in and passionate about both our mission and technology.

You’ll work across the stack and across teams, setting the technical direction, mentoring others, and ensuring our systems are performant, reliable, and continuously improving.

This is a high-impact role where you'll shape both the product and the engineering culture. You’ll be responsible not just for writing excellent code, but also for identifying the right problems to solve and driving initiatives from conception to deployment. If you're excited by the opportunity to influence product direction while solving deep technical challenges, we'd love to meet you!

What you will do:

  • Lead the design and development of complex systems - from data processing pipelines to APIs and client integrations that are critical to clinician workflows.

  • Architect and scale cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security.

  • Set technical direction and standards through hands-on work, thoughtful design, and clear documentation.

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including clinicians and designers, to ensure we're solving the right problems with the right solutions.

  • Guide technical decisions across backend and frontend systems, including Python, TypeScript, React, and Kubernetes.

  • Mentor and support engineers across the team through code reviews, design feedback, and strategic guidance.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement in engineering practices, tooling, and code quality.

What You Bring

  • A track record of leading technical projects end-to-end in a fast-moving product environment.

  • Deep experience building and deploying scalable backend systems.

  • Expertise in cloud infrastructure and distributed systems. A strong product mindset - you care about impact, not just code.

  • A bias toward ownership, proactivity, and collaboration.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence engineering and product decisions.

Bonus Points

  • Hands-on experience with LLM-based applications.

  • Experience working with streaming audio, transcription systems, or real-time media pipelines.

  • Experience building authentication servers and systems.

  • Experience with Kubernetes and Azure

  • Open-source contributions or thought leadership within engineering communities.

  • Experience in health-tech, including designing FHIR/HL7 compliant systems.

  • Proficiency with modern frontend technologies, especially TypeScript and React.
