We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Business Development to drive Spring’s strategic partnerships and collaborations within the acute behavioral health sector. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying, negotiating, and executing partnerships that align with our company's strategic objectives, its values and drive growth opportunities based on improving our member experience and overall health outcomes. .
What you’ll be doing:
- Partnership Identification: Identify and evaluate potential partnership opportunities with healthcare providers in the acute behavioral health space. This includes conducting market research, analyzing industry trends, and assessing competitive landscapes to identify strategic opportunities.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at Spring, including executives, medical affairs, and team leaders while also building similarly strong relationships within potential partners in other healthcare organizations. Leverage existing networks and establish new connections to drive partnership opportunities forward.
- Negotiation and Deal Structuring: Lead negotiations with prospective partners to develop mutually beneficial outcomes. Structure deals that align with our Spring’s goals and objectives while meeting the needs of our partner organizations.
- Collaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, product development, and legal, to drive partnership initiatives forward. Collaborate effectively across departments to ensure seamless execution of partnership agreements and successful implementation of joint initiatives.
- Market Positioning and Thought Leadership: Represent our company at industry conferences, events, and forums to enhance our visibility within the acute behavioral health space. Develop thought leadership content and participate in speaking engagements to position our company as a leader in the industry.
- Performance Tracking and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of partnership initiatives. Track and analyze performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of partnerships and identify areas for optimization and improvement.
What success looks like in this role:
- Creation of strategic plan that outlines partnership goals in light of, and in partnership with, product and clinical leads. Sign off on that plan from relevant stakeholders
- Developed business cases on best-in-class partnerships inclusive of strategic, operations and financial expectations for both sides that outline agreed upon business metrics or KPIs
- Agreed upon partnerships closed with expected time frames
- Integration plans built and follow through with operations teams to ensure business case metrics are met
- Agreed upon marketing plans within Spring and with partner inclusive of press releases, joint presentations at conferences or joint publications or studies where expected
What we expect from you:
- ~5-10+ years of experience in healthcare partnerships, strategic collaborations, or corporate development, with a focus on the acute/complex care behavioral health sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully identifying, negotiating, and executing strategic partnerships in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to work with our FP&A team to model financial elements of the partnerships, understand the impacts on margins, and drive thoughtful win/win business models.
- Strong understanding of the healthcare industry, particularly within the acute behavioral health space, including regulatory requirements, market dynamics, and emerging trends.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and drive results.
- Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Expectations for travel 1-2x a quarter
The target base salary range for this position is $153,750- $205,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
