People Lead (Mat Cover)
We help companies get compensation right.
What we get paid at work has a massive impact on our lives, and it’s one of the biggest factors in hiring and retaining talent - and yet so many companies struggle to get it right. They simply have no choice but to rely on poor data and unsophisticated tools for their pay decisions.
That’s why we created Ravio.
We help many of the world’s most innovative and ambitious companies build stronger teams and reach their goals through better compensation. Our real-time data platform brings compensation into the modern age, tracking the market across all compensation types from salary to equity and benefits. We’re passionate about ensuring everyone is paid what they deserve, no matter their background or circumstances. We believe that when compensation is done right, everyone wins.
Ravio is growing fast, which means you can too. We’ve established ourselves as the European leader in our space serving more than 1,200 clients, and now have our sights set on becoming the global go to place for compensation data and tools for managing compensation.
Joining a startup and scaling it into a global product is one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences a career can offer. If that sounds exciting to you, you’re in the right place.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a People leader who loves being hands-on. You’ll oversee a brilliant People team of 3, but this role is very much IC-focused, driving high-impact projects yourself across performance, engagement, development, culture, and manager capability.
You’ll work closely with our founders, partner with leaders across the business, and help build the people engine behind one of Europe’s most exciting HR tech companies. Because of the nature of our product you’ll also get the chance to input into the product, and of course, attend events where you geek out on all things comp. If you’ve got your own personal brand and like posting authentically then this role is truly unique!
If you’re energised by fast pace, real ownership, and creating meaningful people experiences from the ground up, this is your stage.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and empower a high-performing People team ensuring each function (People Operations and Talent,) delivers exceptional, measurable impact.
Set the vision and strategy for the people agenda, ensuring Ravio continues to provide a world-class employee experience as we grow.
You will represent Ravio at formal and informal People events, engaging with peers on compensation topics through public speaking, panel participation, and hosting discussions.
You’ll also display thought leadership and a willingness to build a visible personal brand by contributing to LinkedIn and People People community groups.
Oversee People Operations and all HR Business Partnering, owning the design and delivery of programmes that shape every moment of the employee lifecycle.
Drive employee engagement, ensuring we listen deeply, act thoughtfully, and continuously improve how we support and inspire our teams.
Strengthen leadership capability across the business, partnering closely with senior managers and leadership to coach, develop, and enable high performance.
Guide and support the Talent function, bringing a strong understanding of modern hiring approaches and strategic workforce planning.
Own performance and development frameworks, ensuring career growth, feedback culture, and learning opportunities remain core to life at Ravio.
Act as a strategic partner to the executive team, bringing commercial thinking, clarity, and a people-first mindset to company-wide decisions.
Navigate ambiguity and scale, ensuring the People team evolves ahead of the company’s needs and remains an accelerator and not a bottleneck within a scaling startup environment.
Qualifications
Proven experience leading senior People teams ideally within scaling startups or tech-enabled businesses.
Extensive background in employee experience, with a track record of designing and executing impactful programmes across multiple geographies.
Strong leadership capability, with experience hiring, developing, and coaching senior People leaders
Deep understanding of talent processes, from strategic resourcing to enabling a modern, high-quality recruitment function.
Exceptional stakeholder partnership skills, especially with managers and senior leadership, and comfortable advising on complex people issues.
Commercially astute, with strong problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity, adapting quickly, making sound decisions, and consistently “thinking big.”
