About Ravio

What we get paid at work has a massive impact on our lives, and it’s one of the biggest factors in hiring and retaining talent - yet so many companies struggle to get it right. They simply have no choice but to rely on poor data and unsophisticated tools for their pay decisions. That’s why we created Ravio.

We help many of the world’s most innovative and ambitious companies build stronger teams and reach their goals through better compensation. Our real-time data platform brings compensation into the modern age with clarity and transparency. We believe that when compensation is done right, everyone wins.

Ravio is growing fast, which means you can too. We’ve established ourselves as the European leader in our space serving more than 1,400 clients, and now have our sights set on becoming the global go to place for compensation data and management tools.

Joining a startup and scaling it into a global product is one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences there is. If that sounds exciting to you, you’re in the right place.

The opportunity at Ravio right now

From your perspective, there are three critical things to look for when evaluating this role: a company going places, a founding team worth learning from, and a role that gives you a true opportunity to have impact.

Ultimately it’s for you to decide whether that’s true in our two-way street interview process. Here’s a summary of where we are right now and what you can expect as a starting point.

There’s a lot happening at Ravio right now. We’ve just raised our Series A led by tier 1 US investors Spark Capital, and have acquired the benchmarking business of our competitor - Compete. We’ve got new joiners starting almost every week, and we’re rapidly expanding outside of our core markets in Europe. We need you to help us maintain our velocity and continue to build a scalable org and product.

Our core benchmarking product is at product-market fit, and we have a couple of new modules in the 0-1 phase. This means we’re at an exciting stage that involves 0-to-1 building in some areas, and building for scale in others. That’s true across the business, we’re continuing to expand and experiment, while systemising and doubling down on what is already working well from our seed phase.

In partnering with Raymond and Evan, you’ll also work closely with our commercial co-founders Merten and Roy. Between our founding team, we’ve taken 2 companies from 0-to-exit and 2 companies from product-market fit to IPO. We’ve worked with each other in multiple prior companies, and even moved across countries together - that’s all to say: we build partnerships that deliver results and stand the test of time.

We’re looking for someone who is actively seeking a challenge, and someone we’ll have fun working alongside. If it’s a match, you’ll meet all three founders within a week and have an offer (or feedback) soon after.

The role

We’re looking for an ambitious Technical Founder’s Associate to work shoulder-to-shoulder with our technical co-founders Raymond and Evan on whatever adds the most value. You’ll have a unique opportunity to challenge yourself and get direct, hands-on experience building and operating a high-growth scaleup.

What you’ll do

  • Own problems: identify opportunities, define scope, run with autonomy, and report outcomes directly to the founding team.

  • Wear many hats: engineering, product, analytics, growth - whatever’s most critical this week.

  • Enable scale: automate loose ends and manual work, document what works, transfer your learnings to others.

  • Move at founder speed: tackle cross-functional projects, anything from running a new growth experiment to tracing a bug.

  • Work directly with founders, day-in-day-out: become a trusted partner and collaborative problem solver, and challenge us where you see fit.

Please note: large parts of this role will not be glamorous. Just like it’s a founder’s job to fill gaps and ensure everything gets done no matter how mundane, that will be your job too.

Success for the role looks like: taking on an increasing amount of responsibilities that would otherwise be carried out by founders, and being able to effectively execute on the founders behalf without them being in the room. There’s no limit, the amount depends on you and how fast you can upskill.

Must haves

  • This role is different from a typical Founder's Associate role - you must be technical. That means you can write code and wrangle data.

  • X years of experience or specific formal education are not mandatory. It's about whether you can showcase that you have what it takes.

  • Strong product sense; you have natural user empathy and intuition for what makes a great product.

  • Commercial acumen; you need to have a natural aptitude for identifying what actually creates business value, and how to make things happen commercially.

  • Highly organised with attention to detail; part of your role is to reduce loose ends, ad hoc work and exceptions, not create them.

  • Ability to execute independently; when needed you’re able to complete tasks to a high standard without having to rely on others.

  • Adaptable; you thrive on being put in new situations and figuring things out.

  • Emotionally intelligent with strong communication skills; with both non-technical and technical stakeholders. You naturally bridge gaps.

  • Commitment; you’re looking to stay in your next company for at least 2 years; any less and it’s not a win-win investment for you and Ravio.

Fit & future career paths

Founder's Associate roles provide a rare set of experiences that unlock sought-after career paths, for example

  • Future-founder with strong technical skills, who wants to learn how to operate as a founder in a Tier 1 scaleup before embarking on their own founder journey.

  • Experienced software engineer or other technical IC with commercial acumen, who is looking to develop strategic and leadership skills to change career paths toward C-suite or other senior leadership (at Ravio or beyond).

Compensation & benefits

  • £60,000 - £90,000 salary

  • Company ownership (everyone gets a meaningful equity stake in Ravio)

  • 37 days paid time off (25 days holiday + 4 wellness days + 8 public holidays)

  • Up to 6% pension matching scheme

  • £60 a month wellness allowance (Invest in your physical wellbeing, on us)

  • Private healthcare cover (on a medical history disregarded basis) with AXA

  • Personal worldwide travel insurance - just in case

  • Income protection insurance (for full peace of mind in case you cannot work because of sickness or disability)
