About Mimo

Mimo is an AI-native platform for accounting firms. We automate the recurring work inside the monthly close, from chasing client documents and reconciling transactions to posting adjustments and reviewing VAT before it is filed, so accountants spend their time on judgement instead of admin.

Accounting is being rebuilt around AI right now. We intend to be the ones who rebuild it, and to help the firms that get there first do the best work of their careers. We are a team of 35 across Stockholm and London, backed by top European investors including Northzone and Project A, growing rapidly across the UK's top 10-250 firms, with new markets next.

The role

Accounting runs on trust and proof, every number needs an audit trail, every suggestion needs to be defensible. Combining that with AI is one of the most interesting design challenges out there right now: design is how "AI-native accounting" stops being a pitch and becomes something accountants actually trust and use every day, the moment an accountant reviews an AI-flagged anomaly, approves a suggested VAT adjustment, or chases a client for a missing invoice.

We're now looking for a Senior Product Designer to join us. You'd join a small design team working directly with our Head of Design, with real influence over craft and process from day one, working end-to-end across our product.

What you will do

• Design across the product, from early discovery grounded in jobs to be done, to shipped experiences that hold up on the happy path and the unhappy ones

• Work holistically across the design function, from craft to design systems to how we work together

What we're looking for

Hard skills

• Excellent product designer (UX/UI): you've shaped products with real impact before, and can clearly point to your contribution and the decisions behind it

• Genuine curiosity about accounting and finance workflows, or excited to build that domain knowledge quickly

• Comfortable using modern AI tools to prototype and explore ideas quickly (e.g. Claude, Lovable, Figma Make)

Soft skills

• Dream team: you're a driver, not a passenger, you take initiative, lead and motivate others

  • You figure out what matters most, rather than waiting for a PM or Head of Design to hand you a task

  • You know good ideas can come from anywhere and get them into the product fast, rather than gatekeeping

• Drive for impact: you create momentum, remove blockers and speed up progress for yourself and others

  • If the design system doesn't cover what's needed, you evolve it

  • If there's friction running a research study, you figure out how to do it anyway

• Excellence: good isn't good enough, you push for great

  • You know speed and quality aren't opposites, modern AI tools mean you can move fast without cutting craft

Bonus

• Experience designing for finance, accounting, or other detail-oriented professional tools

• Familiarity with practice management or accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Dext, Silverfin, etc.)

• Knowledge of data-heavy interfaces, dashboards, or workflow tools
