The next ten years of AI will not be won in software. They will be won in the physical world. In factories, hospitals, kitchens, fields, and homes. The companies that own that data will own the century.
microagi is building it. We are the data layer for physical AI.
You will build and keep alive the moving hardware. The rigs, actuated mounts, and robotic setups we use to capture and validate data. That means the actuators, the wiring, the power that feeds them, and knowing what happens when one of them fails at three in the afternoon in the middle of a capture.
What You Will Do
- Design and build actuated rigs and mechatronic assemblies.
- Select and integrate motors, drives, encoders, and sensors.
- Design wiring harnesses and power distribution that survive daily use.
- Work out the fault modes before they happen, and design so failure is safe and obvious.
- Bring systems up, tune them, and keep them running.
- Support the capture and deployment teams when hardware misbehaves in the field.
Requirements
- Mechatronics or robotics engineering experience on systems you actually built.
- Experience with actuator selection, motor control, and drive integration.
- Practical electrical skills. Harness design, connectors, grounding, power budgets.
- You understand failure modes and functional safety in moving hardware.
- Comfortable with a soldering iron and a torque wrench.
- High agency - you don't wait to be told what to do.
- Fluent in English.
- German is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Industrial robot arms or collaborative robots.
- ROS or equivalent.
- Test rigs and automated fixtures.
