LogicStar AI is looking for a Staff Backend & Integrations Engineer to spearhead the integration of our autonomous software maintenance AI agent with all relevant tools and platforms that software developers use to maintain software e.g. GitHub, Jira, VSCode, Slack etc. with strong experience in building developer tool integrations and their backend services.

You will work closely with the Chief Architect, Staff Design Engineer and CPO to align the integrations and supporting infrastructure with the overall UI/UX design, technical and product vision.

This is a very hands-on role focused on developing and maintaining integrations with such third-party tools and platforms, as well their supporting infrastructure and owning their deployment, maintenance and reliability.

Key responsibilities:

Building integrations

• Develop and maintain the integrations of our AI agent with GitHub, Jira, VS Code, Slack and other products and platforms.
• Implement and own backend services that support the business logic of these integrations and serve as a bridge between their frontends and our AI core backend infrastructure.
• Deploy, maintain and manage these backend services in relevant cloud environments (GCP, Hetzner and others) or put shortly “you build it, you deploy it, you own it” (of course, we’re there to help, it’s a team sport).
• Set up relevant monitoring, logging, and alerting to maintain system health and reliability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with our Staff Design Engineer to align with the UI/UX and frontend architecture
• Work with our Chief Architect to align with the overall technical vision and architecture
• Work with our CPO to define product roadmaps and prioritize features

Code Quality & Best Practices

• Ability to produce and maintain clean, maintainable code and enforce standards for testing, documentation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Optimize performance for real-time interactions and large-scale deployments
• Stay up to date with industry trends in AI native dev tools.

Mandatory qualifications

Technical skills

• 3+ years of experience developing 3rd party integrations preferably in the Node.js ecosystem, or alternatively in the Python ecosystem.
• Have worked extensively with 3rd party APIs and integrations.
• Have experience designing and maintaining backend services and being comfortable owning them end-to-end, including their deployment and maintenance.
• Have experience deploying and managing applications in GCP, Hetzner and other cloud environments.
• Have experience with infrastructure automation tools for infrastructure-as-code, configuration management and containerization such as Terraform, Ansible, Docker i.e.
• Have a solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Communication

• Have excellent communication skills and can explain technical decisions clearly.

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with both JS/TS and Python, not just one of them
• Experience building developer tools
• Knowledge of DevOps tools (Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, Terraform) or MLOps frameworks
• An AI native development mindset and experience e.g. working/learning with tools like Cursor, AI Agents, and the wide range of new AI for code tools
• Experience with real-time systems or autonomous AI agents
