Role Overview
We’re hiring a Technical Project Manager to join Kota’s Customer Platform team — the squad responsible for building and scaling the product our customers rely on to access health, pension, and insurance benefits.
You’ll be the connective tissue across backend, web, mobile, and design — driving delivery forward, keeping the team unblocked, and ensuring we ship great products, fast. From scoping new features to coordinating releases and triaging customer bugs, you'll help the team stay focused and effective.
This is not a pure scrum-master or Gantt chart role. It’s a hands-on, high-context, fast-moving role for someone who understands engineering, product, and customer needs — and can balance all three.

Triage and Unblock - from bugs to support escalations to scope questions, you’ll help catch issues early, direct them to the right people, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
What You’ll Do
Drive project delivery across a cross-functional team of engineers (backend, web, mobile) and designers.
Take product specs and break them into clear, deliverable plans with milestones and timelines.
Run standups, planning sessions, retros, and release check-ins — and iterate on these rituals as the team evolves.
Coordinate cross-platform work across backend, web, mobile to ensure aligned delivery.
Handle triage and technical escalation from customer support, helping delegate issues to the right engineers.
Track in-flight work, surface blockers early, and keep everyone aligned on what’s shipping when.
Work closely with the product manager to help balance roadmap delivery with ongoing support, bugs, and unexpected priorities.

Own and improve the tools and processes the team uses to manage work (e.g. Linear, Retool dashboards, Slack automation).
What We’re Looking For
4+ years experience in technical program/project management or engineering roles with strong project delivery focus.
Deep familiarity with agile-ish delivery in startup or lean team environments.
Excellent technical literacy — you can understand backend/web/mobile work, read tickets/code, and ask the right questions.
Exceptional organisational and communication skills — written, async, and in-person.
Strong bias toward action and unblocking. You don’t wait for perfect information to move forward.
Comfortable wearing many hats and pitching in where needed — whether that’s QA’ing a flow, following up on a hot-fix, or chasing down a dependency.
Familiarity with tools like Linear, Notion, Slack, Figma, and GitHub (or similar).

Bonus: Prior experience working on fintech/benefits products.
