Who we’re looking for

The Katana engineering team is looking for a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer—frontend. This team builds experience to promote growth through in-product experiences.

The successful candidate will have a strong product engineering background and proficiency in TypeScript, React, and NodeJS. You enjoy fast-paced entrepreneurial environments where you can solve difficult problems using current technologies and tools. You collaborate well with other team members when brainstorming, designing, and implementing new solutions. You will help the team succeed by thinking about ways to improve processes, suggesting ways to make the team more effective, and mentoring and modelling engineering best practices. You are a hands-on technical resource who will be responsible for issues related to product features, performance, speed, scale, security and accessibility.

As a member of our team, you will be building new systems and loveable software that makes business processes effortless.

Your typical week would include:

50% Delivery and execution

• Maintaining code consistency and advocating for best practices to ensure high-quality and maintainable code.;
• Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy and enthusiasm;
• Critically evaluating existing solutions and identifying opportunities for frontend initiatives;
• Continuously monitoring, optimizing, and updating systems to ensure peak performance and responsiveness;
• Proposing, defending, and iteratively implementing solutions, driving change within the team;
• Develops test suites (functional, destructive, etc) to enable success and rapid deployment of code to production;
• Takes a broad view when approaching issues; using a global lens;
• Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of solutions and processes.

• Collaborates across engineering in agile processes;
• Actively participating in discussions and brainstorming sessions to bring forward new ideas that enhance frontend capabilities and user experience.

You’re the perfect fit if you

• Have at least +5 years of professional engineering experience working in B2B SaaS a product-driven environment.
• Have experience working with micro-frontend setups, enabling independent development and deployment of frontend components.
• Can design and implement robust frontend architectures, including experience with component libraries and design systems.
• Have expertise in building and maintaining scalable React applications, including knowledge of hooks, state management, and performance optimization techniques.
• Have strong communication and collaboration skills, using them to ensure alignment with your peers and partner with them on problem-solving.
• Are team-oriented and value the group’s success over your personal achievements.
• Are knowledgeable about industry trends and best practices and hungry for continuous experimentation and advancement.
