As City Manager, you are the operational backbone of your cluster. You are responsible for the overall performance, growth, and development of a cluster of hubs. You don't just manage processes; you empower people. By employing a coaching leadership style, you ensure your Hub Managers take full ownership of their locations. You are the bridge between the headquarters and the work floor, ensuring strategic goals are translated into operational excellence

Job Description

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build High-Performing Teams: Responsible for hiring, staffing, and supervising Hub Managers and the wider leadership teams within your cluster. You ensure the right people are in the right roles and create long-term sustainability.
  • Ownership & Accountability: Actively coach Hub Managers to grow into their roles, building a culture of true ownership and accountability. You set clear expectations, lead by example and make feedback part of everyday work.
  • Talent Management: Identify High Potentials within your cluster and work closely with the People Team to create succession plans and career paths.
  • Active Presence: Be a visible and approachable leader. You are frequently present in the region, including weekends, to ensure you truly know your teams and understand local challenges and the day-to-day dynamics of the operation.
  • Strategic Prioritization: You are able to set clear priorities and focus your time and attention where it has the greatest impact. You can identify which hubs or Hub Managers require additional support and take action where needed.

Operational Excellence

  • KPI Management: Analyze weekly KPIs with a high level of ownership. You are able to quickly switch focus when priorities change, using data to identify where action is required to steer your cluster toward weekly and monthly targets.
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with various HQ departments to continuously improve warehousing, staffing, and delivery processes.
  • Customer Experience: Guarantee top-tier service for our customers by coaching your teams on process adherence and quality standards.
  • Operational & Financial Results: You carry full responsibility for achieving the best operational and financial results within your cluster. You balance short-term results with sustainable improvements, ensuring the operations remain stable and cost-efficient.
  • Stakeholder Management: You work closely with HQ and stakeholders, bringing in operational insights and offering critical input where needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (HBO/University of Applied Sciences).
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in an operations-heavy management role (Logistics, Retail, or Hospitality).
  • Multi-site Management: Experience managing teams across multiple physical locations is a strong plus.
  • Languages: Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken & written). Native Dutch is preferred.
  • Data-Driven: Comfortable managing hubs based on data; ability to analyze large sets of KPIs, draw conclusions, and define concrete action plans.
  • Mindset: A true team player who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and support the team on the ground whenever needed.
