Filed is building the first AI tax preparer trusted by America’s accounting firms.

This industry might seem boring, but it’s a $70B backbone of the economy that’s breaking under a talent shortage no one has solved. We’re fixing it fast.

In just 9 months, we’ve hit strong product-market fit, are generating insanely fast-growing, ridiculously sticky revenue, and are backed by top-tier investors. We’re not a tool—we’re the missing workforce firms have been sounding the alarm for. We’re building the future by expanding our already 30-person team with those who want to say “I was there when it all started.”

What we should tell you about the role

We’re hiring experienced tax professionals to review and refine complex individual tax returns (Form 1040). This isn’t basic prep work—you’ll be working with high-net-worth clients who have intricate income structures, multiple entities, and multi-state or international considerations.

You’ll be the final set of eyes before returns go out the door, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and optimization. If you love solving complex tax puzzles and thrive in a fast, tech-enabled environment, this role is for you.

Here’s why this is a terrible job

This isn’t for someone who likes to clock in and out. You’ll be reviewing intricate returns under tight timelines. You’ll spot and fix errors others missed—sometimes buried in hundreds of pages of documentation. You’ll document what the AI system got wrong and push the limits of how humans and AI collaborate. If you’re uncomfortable in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, this won’t be a fit.

Here’s why it’s the best career choice you’ll make

You’ll be part of building something transformative—the future of expert tax collaboration. You’ll work alongside top-tier professionals and cutting-edge technology that’s redefining how tax gets done. You’ll have autonomy, flexibility, and the ability to shape a system that’s solving one of the biggest bottlenecks in the industry. And you’ll do work that actually matters—making the tax season smoother for thousands of professionals nationwide.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Reviewing and editing advanced 1040 returns using Filed’s AI-supported workflow

  • Identifying errors, inconsistencies, and planning opportunities

  • Providing concise, actionable feedback and corrections

  • Collaborating with internal tax and operations teams to ensure smooth, high-quality delivery

  • Documenting system errors and contributing to continuous product improvement

What we’re looking for

  • Extensive experience reviewing or preparing complex Form 1040 returns

  • Strong background with high-net-worth individuals and complex profiles (K-1s, stock options, trusts, multi-state filings, passive activity limitations)

  • Ability to interpret complex returns, spot issues, and communicate clearly

  • Comfort working in a tech-enabled environment (AI familiarity a plus)

  • Proficiency with major tax software platforms (Axcess, UltraTax, ProConnect, or Drake)

  • CPA or EA preferred (or equivalent experience)

  • Availability during standard business hours

If you’re a meticulous reviewer who thrives on precision and wants to be part of reshaping the future of tax, we’d love to hear from you.
