Want to help transform road freight for good by driving the transition to cost-efficient electric and autonomous freight operations for some of the world's largest shippers? With its Freight-Capacity-as-a-Service business model, Einride combines autonomous and electric trucks, AI optimization software, and charging infrastructure into one integrated solution. We operate one of the world’s largest electric heavy-duty fleets, serving customers in the U.S. and Europe with its electric and autonomous operations, and in the Middle East with its electric fleet. Founded in 2016, Einride became the first company in the world to deploy a cab-less autonomous electric vehicle on a public road (Sweden, 2019). In 2022, we were the first to successfully operate such a vehicle on a U.S. public road. Today our award-winning technology has been launched across 7 countries (and counting). Our clients are some of the world’s biggest shippers, including Fortune 500 companies.
Internship description
As a Summer Intern at Einride you’ll be working on various strategic, operational, technical, or customer-related topics where you'll receive personal coaching from Einride colleagues and make a real difference towards a sustainable future. We are offering summer internships across various functions and departments:
- Autonomous Vehicles / AD HW: We work with the hardware architecture for our Autonomous Trucks, managing everything from high-performance compute platforms and network connectivity (5G, GNSS) to the full sensor suite (LiDAR, radar, cameras). During your internship, you’ll collaborate with us on Proof of Concept (PoC) development for improved sensing capabilities, sensor integration, automation of testing and validation.
- Team Motion Planning & Control: Team Motion Planning & Control develops the decision-making software that guides our autonomous trucks safely and efficiently, including algorithms for pathfinding, speed planning, and collision avoidance using real-time localization and perception data. As an intern, your tasks will include motion planning development and implementing a proactive safety layer in our motion planner.
- Team Perception & Machine Learning: The Perception team processes data from sensors like lidars, cameras, and radars to understand the vehicle’s surroundings, including road surfaces, obstacles, and their movement. As an intern, you will support perception activities for our next-generation vehicle platforms and dual-application programs, contributing to the software stack.
- Team Data & Control Tower: Team Data & Control Tower is responsible for providing the data platform for Machine Learning, Validation & Verification engineers and other developers and stakeholders. The team handles the complete data flow: collecting large volumes of sensor and autonomous driving component data, ingesting it into the data platform, enriching the data using Machine Learning and providing tools to search for specific data points. As an intern, you'll contribute to improving the capabilities of the platform by utilizing Machine Learning to enable natural language search of Einride's data set.
- Central Functions: Work at the strategic epicenter of the company alongside the CEO and leadership team. Combining sharp thinking with hands-on execution, this team drives our most important initiatives. As an intern, you will ensure our internal AI products reach the finish line, creating significant value throughout the company.
- Corporate Strategy & Development: The Corporate Strategy & Development team leads central strategy for Einride, drives cross-functional strategic projects, and manages the PMO across business units - working closely with leadership and business leaders to shape the company's direction. As an intern, you'll get hands-on experience supporting high-impact strategic initiatives at one of Europe's leading tech unicorns.
- Security: The security team operates on two fronts: building trust by safeguarding all sensitive information (IP, customer, and business data) for internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring our products are secure by design. We are seeking two interns to either improve our vendor security processes and awareness materials or focus on penetration testing, incident management playbooks, and vulnerability management tools.
- Analytics Platform: The Analytics Platform team is responsible for the internal data platform and data flows that powers Analytics and Machine Learning used both for internal decision making and in Saga, Einrides intelligent transport operating system. As an intern you will improve and maintain business critical data pipelines and support internal stakeholders with data requests and analysis.
- Commercial Nordics: As Einride’s frontline for the Nordic market, we are dedicated to expanding our regional footprint while delivering world-class customer satisfaction. As a Commercial Intern, you will be an integral part of the team, supporting our commercial leads on strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations. A core part of your role will involve bringing structure to our commercial engine - organizing workflows, managing documentation, and ensuring our team stays agile as we scale.
- Operations: Operations includes a central team and four regional teams focused on delivering efficient electric transport solutions. As an intern, you will manage client bookings, handle data entry and report generation, and maintain daily contact with carriers and workshops to manage deviations and secure correct reporting. Your role combines hands-on coordination with data analysis to support our central and regional initiatives.
- Solutions EMEA: Solutions analyzes transport demand to create cost-efficient electrification plans for customers. As an intern, you will support with analyzing transport data, designing customer solutions / proposals and drive internal projects with a focus on data analysis, tooling, and processes with support of AI.
- Team Optimize: The optimization team builds the smart transport planning algorithms and models to optimize Einrides daily operations and strategic planning activities, mainly VRP variants. As an intern, you'll help find new ways to boost efficiency, explore new approaches, analyze data and help turbo charge our existing routing algorithms.
