We are looking for an Engineering Manager. We deliver projects and features that our Product and Business teams expect to scale business activity with our Carriers and Retailers. By joining us in this role, you will be responsible for managing and leading the team on all People-related matters and engineering delivery and efficiency topics. You will be part of the Distribusion leadership team and report to our VP of Engineering.
What you will do:
Manage, lead, and grow Engineering teams (people development, people engagement, hiring etc.)
Advocate and drive projects to develop our Tech brand
Increase the quality and stability of our services
Establish Tech org structure in the domain: introduce squad leads and establish their general processes and deliveries
Plan resources of the team according to the roadmap quarterly
Be responsible for Incident management
Take responsibility of the architectural design within the domain
Also, with the HQ office in Berlin, where the team often meets in the office.
Job requirements
Who you are:
- You are an experienced People leader who has managed backend or cross-functional teams in the past.
- You are able to understand and review code in Ruby. If you can also do it in Python, that is nice to have.
- You are a well-rounded Engineer who can address technical issues yourself if needed.
- You have extensive experience working with a microservice architecture, are aware of event-driven approaches, and have worked with systems geared towards asynchronous communications.
- You are a Tech leader who can drive projects and develop our Tech brand internally and externally.
- You are driven, ambitious, and willing to get hands-on in shaping the future of ground transportation travel.
- You show ownership and responsibility for your problem space.
- You are fluent in English, both verbal and written.
