Manager, Strategic Operations

Berry Street

Berry Street

Operations
New York, NY, USA
Posted on May 30, 2025

Berry Street is a business-in-a-box platform enabling registered dietitians to start and scale private practices that accept health insurance. We provide all of the software needed to run a thriving practice and administrative services like insurance contracting, eligibility verification, customer support, claims billing, and even patient acquisition.

The Opportunity

Berry Street is tackling America’s most comprehensive health crisis: food. More than half of Americans are struggling with their relationship with food, are clinically overweight, or suffer from a chronic condition linked to their diet.

Nutrition therapy is clinically proven to make a difference, and most commercial health insurance plans cover it at $0 out-of-pocket. Berry Street empowers registered dietitians to launch and grow in-network private practices. We’re creating game-changing technology to build America’s largest dietitian network and ensure that anyone can access the help they need.

Since launching in January 2023, we’ve grown to over 1,100 providers on our platform and tens of thousands of patients served, across all 50 states. We’re a Series B company backed by top VCs like Northzone, Sofina, and FJ Labs, as well as angel investors like the founders of Revolut, Spring, Grow Therapy, and Unified Vision.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Manager, Strategic Operations to lead and scale high-impact initiatives at the core of Berry Street’s growth. This is a unique opportunity to work across functions on some of our most complex and business-critical challenges—ranging from scaling internal systems to supporting the go-to-market execution of emerging initiatives.

You’ll be responsible for building operational infrastructure, leading cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring key business priorities are executed with rigor. A strong analytical foundation is essential—this role relies on data to surface insights, guide strategy, and drive day-to-day decision-making. We’re looking for someone who’s both a systems thinker and a hands-on builder. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, take on meaningful ownership from day one, and play a pivotal role in how Berry Street scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize operations: Build scalable systems and workflows that support our core business and emerging initiatives
  • Lead cross-functional projects: Drive high-impact workstreams across departments, collaborating closely with stakeholders in growth, product, and operations
  • Use data to drive decisions: Analyze operational performance, uncover bottlenecks, and use insights to inform priorities and strategy
  • Support strategic planning: Partner with leadership to shape team-level plans, evaluate tradeoffs, and contribute to long-term business goals
  • Improve internal systems: Identify inefficiencies and implement tools, automations, or process changes that accelerate execution
  • 4+ years of experience in operations at a high-growth startup, top-tier consulting firm, or investment bank; experience in healthcare, insurance, or digital health is a strong plus
  • Highly analytical and data-driven—you’re fluent in tools like Excel, SQL, or Metabase, and skilled at translating data into clear insights and action
  • Comfortable with no-code/low-code tools (e.g., Zapier, Airtable, Retool) and always looking for ways to streamline work
  • A systems thinker who balances high-level strategy with an ability to get in the weeds and execute
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail—you can manage multiple priorities without dropping the ball
  • Empathetic and composed—you bring emotional intelligence to tough situations and know how to lead through influence
  • A clear and thoughtful communicator with experience working across levels and functions
  • A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership, and is excited to build in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
  • The chance to drive impact within the healthcare landscape from day one
  • Comprehensive health insurance plans, including dental and vision
  • Spacious and light-drenched Madison Square Park office ☀️
  • Generous PTO 🏖️
  • 401k with match 💰
  • Citibike membership 🚲
  • Unlimited dietitian care 🍓
  • Continuous learning opportunities
  • Competitive salary
  • The opportunity to help build a rapidly scaling start-up organization by taking strong ownership of your work, mentorship, and our unbounded leadership opportunities
