About the Role:

As a Principal Security Engineer, you will help protect customer trust by designing, building, and operating effective security solutions across products, platforms, and enterprise services. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role focused on practical security outcomes, clear communication, and collaboration across teams.

You will work closely with engineering, product, risk, compliance, legal, and customer-facing teams to turn security requirements into solutions that scale and are easy to understand. You will also support customer trust activities—such as security reviews, audits, and customer discussions—by ensuring our security practices are accurate, transparent, and well documented.

This role is well suited for an experienced security engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing without authority, and balancing security best practices with real-world constraints.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the quality, effectiveness, and delivery of assigned security initiatives from design through implementation and operationalization.

  • Design, review, and validate secure architectures and control implementations in partnership with engineering, product, and platform teams.

  • Ensure security controls, processes, and solutions are implemented as intended and produce measurable risk reduction.

  • Identify, assess, and prioritize security risks, vulnerabilities, and design gaps, and drive remediation to closure with accountable partners.

  • Represent security engineering perspectives in cross functional discussions where customer trust, regulatory expectations, or risk trade offs are involved.

  • Maintain accountability for documentation, traceability, and follow through, including decisions, exceptions, and remediation actions.

  • Provide hands on security engineering support, including analysis, configuration guidance, tooling integration, and automation where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • 7–10+ years of relevant experience in security engineering, platform security, product security, cloud security, or adjacent engineering roles with substantial security ownership.

  • Customer engagement experience: A strong background in managing customer inquiries, including, but not limited to, curating and maintaining a public Trust Center, completion of questionnaires, client engagement calls and security contract language reviews

  • Experience leading or owning complex security initiatives across multiple teams

  • Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and influence outcomes in a collaborative environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical topics to non-technical audiences
