About the Role

The Product Manager II will work closely with the Senior Product Managers to transform significant product initiatives into executable user stories and manage daily technical execution. They will own the development plan and represent their features within the technical teams, maintaining an internal network across product domains. The individual will possess a comprehensive understanding of the customer and target market and demonstrate strong capability to convert high-level concepts into actionable stories and tasks. They will represent the Product Team to the delivery team, participate in technology team ceremonies, and drive efficiency towards achieving key milestones.

This role can be hybrid or remote from Evanston, IL/ Chicago, IL for occasional on-site meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Focus: Engages with customers to understand needs, uses customer frameworks, and stays informed on market and competitor trends.

  • Data-Driven Decision-Making & Analysis: Independently analyzes data using dashboards to make informed, business-aware recommendations.

  • Go to Market & Product Marketing Lifecycle: Supports product launches, collaborates with sales, creates marketing materials, and engages with customers directly.

  • Product Delivery & Development Lifecycle: Executes product roadmaps, improves customer experience, manages requirements, and supports process improvements.

  • Strategy & Commercial Acumen: Contributes to product strategy and aligns personal goals with broader business objectives.

  • Technical Skills: Understands relevant tech stack, uses tools like SQL and Tableau, and collaborates with developers on technical constraints.

  • Competencies - Practices Self-Development, Solves Problems and Analyzes Issues, Innovates, Communicates Powerfully and Prolifically, Collaboration and Teamwork, Builds Relationships, Inspires and Motivates Others to High Performance, Drives for Results


Requirements

  • Suggested Minimum Years of PO/BA Experience: 1-4 years

  • Experience breaking down initiatives and/or epics into user stories and ushering through the various scrum ceremonies.

  • Financial services, payments, payments routing, or payments operations experience preferred, but not essential.

  • Ability to translate business objectives into technical requirements and establish acceptance criteria.

  • Demonstrated readiness to engage in customer engagements.

  • Demonstrated readiness to engage in work under minimal supervision.

  • Education to Qualify: Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical subject (Computer Science or Engineering discipline) is preferred, but not essential.
